On Friday, February 21st, the online dating and networking app, Bumble, is hosting a speed dating event in Downtown Detroit.
Founded in 2014 by the co-founder of Tinder, Bumble is more than a dating app, it's a social network dedicated to elevating all areas of your life. Bumble has three different categories users can choose from within the app. Bumble Date, Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz. Bumble Date is dedicated to helping you find your next great love. Bumble BFF is a place for users to find and connect with new platonic friendships. Bumble Bizz is where users will find mentorship, career tips and networking opportunities.
Bumble founder, Whitney Wolfe Herd, has previously described Bumble as a "feminist dating app". According to a June 2016 survey, 46.2% of its users are female. Bumble was invented to give the power back to women in dating. On typical dating apps both men and women are able to message each other. Although this is the case most women are still likely to leave it up to the man to make the initial connection. On Bumble women make the first move if they want to message their partner making it more acceptable to slide into an inbox.
The event will be from 7pm -10pm. Before you get to the event follow the steps below.
